Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Munich Air Disaster 1958

We love them
We mourn for them
Unlucky boys of Red

I wish I'd gone down
Gone down with them
To where Mother Nature makes their bed

We miss them
Every night we kiss them
Their faces fixed in our heads

I wish I'd gone down
Gone down with them
To where Mother Nature makes their bed

They can't hurt you
Their style will never desert you
Because they're all safely dead

I wish I'd gone down
Gone down with them
To where Mother Nature makes their bed

The lyrics are about the Munich air disaster happened in 1958 indeed, the saddest and darkest moment in Manchester United football team history. The team was returning from a match in Belgrade when their plane stopped at Munich for refuelling.

The plane crashed in a blizzard on its third attempt to take off from Munich airport, killing 23 of the 43 people onboard.

Among the dead were eight of United's most promising young players - the Busby Babes - including Duncan Edwards considered the greatest young British player of his generation.

Il disastro aereo di Monaco 1958

Li amiamo
Li piangiamo
quegli sfortunati ragazzi in rosso
