Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 26 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, afternoons, views, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

If Saturday Ever Comes

If Saturday, ooh if Saturday ever comes
Where will I be, this time next week?
Oh if Saturday ever comes?
Nurses pull the screens
And then unplug machines
At the bed where your brother lies
Where your brother lies
Where your brother lies
Oh if Saturday, oh if Saturday ever comes
Where will I be?
Winter branches high
Ah watery sky
And... here am I...

There's a casket draped red, white and blue
Let this procession be a lesson for you
There's a passing bell tolling the knell1
And an urn awaiting your turn
There's a boneyard stuffed to overflow
Rest assured! they'll always find room for you

Lost Demos series October 29, 2021 - link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edrvvLLVOqs

The composition (according to producer Alex Reverberi of Los Angeles on YT @alexreverberi) is by Mando Lopez and Andrea Bulletti. The piece of music, initially played and recorded on 14 November 2020 in Dmi (D minor) was later changed to Ab (A bemolle major) to better suit the natural tone of Morrissey's voice.

1 The phrase "a passing bell tolling the knell" refers to the traditional practice of using church bells to announce a death, often involving multiple stages. The "passing bell" was rung while a person was dying, to summon a cleric and to signal to the community that someone was nearing death. The "death knell" was then rung after the person had died. This practice has historical and cultural significance, with variations in the specific ringing patterns and their interpretations depending on the region and era.

Se mai verrą sabato

Se sabato, ooh se sabato arriverà mai
Dove sarò io, a quest'ora la prossima settimana?
Oh, se mai arrivasse sabato?
Le infermiere tirano i separé
E poi staccano le macchine
Al letto dove giace tuo fratello
Dove giace tuo fratello
Dove giace tuo fratello
