Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Unhappy Birthday

I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday
I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday
Because you're evil
And you lie
And if you should die
I may feel slightly sad
(But I won't cry!)

Loved and lost
and some may say:
"When usually it's Nothing
Surely you're happy
It should be this way?"
I say. "No, I'm gonna kill my dog
May the lines sag, may the lines sag heavy
And deep tonight"

I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday
I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday
Because you're evil
And you lie
And if you should die
I may feel slightly sad
(But I won't cry!)

Loved and lost
and some may say:
"When usually it's Nothing
Surely you're happy
It should be this way?"
I say. "No"
And then I shot myself
So drink, drink, drink
And be ill tonight
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
From the one you left behind
Behind, behind..
Oh unhappy birthday!

Infelice compleanno

Sono venuto ad augurarti un infelice compleanno
Sono venuto ad augurarti un infelice compleanno
Perché sei malvagio
E menti
E se morissi
Potrei sentirmi un po' triste
(Ma non piangerò!)

Amato e perduto
E alcuni direbbero:
"Se di solito non sei felice
con certezza di Nulla,
perché dovresti esserlo così?"
Rispondo: "No, ucciderò il mio cane!
Che le tue rughe possano accentuarsi, che possano accentuarsi
Pesantemente e sprofondare stanotte!"

Sono venuto ad augurarti un infelice compleanno
Sono venuto ad augurarti un infelice compleanno
Perché sei malvagio
E menti
E se morissi
Potrei sentirmi un po' triste
(Ma non piangerò!)

Amato e perduto
E alcuni direbbero:
"Se di solito non sei felice
di Nulla con certezza
Perché dovresti esserlo così?"
Rispondo: "No"
E poi mi sono sparato
Allora bevi, bevi, bevi
E stai male stanotte
Da colui che ti sei lasciato alle spalle
Da colui che ti sei lasciato alle spalle
Da colui che ti sei lasciato alle spalle
Da colui che ti sei lasciato alle spalle
Alle spalle, alle spalle...
Oh infelice compleanno!
