Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

East West

East West
Over the ocean
Perpetual motion
Travelling around

No rest, singing and playing
Night out and day in
Doing the round

What a good life this must seem!
Swelled joints
Everything classy
Nothing is tacky
Only the best!

Lush girls, older and dying
Sighing and crying
This is success!

What a good life this must seem!
But when I hear your voice
Singing out
The Bells Of Hope
Are ringing out
And I feel all alone
(And I think of my home)

Cold times
A wind through the houses
The bleakness arouses
A longing to leave

Time flew
I wanted to see you
Somehow I could not do
Because of success

What a strange life this can be!
But when I hear your voice
singing out
The Bells Of Hope
Are ringing out
And I feel all alone
(And I think of my home)

Est Ovest

Da Est a Ovest
sopra l'oceano
in moto perpetuo
sempre in viaggio

Senza posa, cantare e suonare
La notte fuori e il giorno in casa
facendo il giro completo

Che bella vita deve sembrare questa!
Posti esagerati
Ogni cosa di gran classe
Nulla è di cattivo gusto
Solamente il meglio!

Ragazze lussureggianti, più grandi e morenti
singhiozzanti e in lacrime
Questo è il successo!

Che bella vita deve sembrare questa!
Ma quando sento la tua voce
cantare alta,
le campane della speranza
risuonano ancora
e mi sento tutto solo
(e ripenso alla mia casa)

Periodi freddi
Un vento attraversa le case
Lo squallore risveglia
il desiderio di partire

Il tempo è volato
Io volevo vederti
Per qualche motivo non ho potuto
per colpa del successo

Quanto strana può essere questa vita!
Ma quando sento la tua voce
cantare alta,
le campane della speranza
risuonano ancora
e mi sento tutto solo
(e ripenso alla mia casa)
