Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Driving Your Girlfriend Home

I'm driving
Your girlfriend home
And she's saying
How she never chose you
"Turn left", she says
I turn left
And she says:
"So how did I end up
So deeply involved in
The very existence
I planned on avoiding?"
And I can't answer

I'm driving
Your girlfriend home
And she's laughing
To stop herself crying
"Drive on", she says
I drive on
And she says:
"So how did I end up
Attached to this person
When his sense of humour
Gets gradually worser?"
And I can't tell her

I'm parking
Outside her home
And we're shaking hands
Goodnight, so politely

Interestingly enough, Linder Sterling, Morrissey's oldest friend and photographer, contributes backing vocals to this track.

Accompagnando a casa la tua ragazza

Accompagno in macchina
La tua ragazza a casa
E lei mi racconta
Di come non ti abbia mai voluto
"Gira a sinistra", mi dice
Giro a sinistra
E lei dice:
"Come ho fatto a finire
tanto seriamente coinvolta in
quella stessa esistenza
Che avevo sempre cercato di evitare?"
Ed io non so risponderle

Accompagno
La tua ragazza a casa
E lei ride
Per smettere di piangere
"Continua a guidare", mi dice
Continuo a guidare
E lei dice:
"Come ho fatto a finire
legata a questa persona
quando il suo senso dell'umorismo
non fa che peggiorare?"
Ed io non so dirglielo

Parcheggio
Fuori da casa sua
E ci stringiamo la mano
"Buonanotte", così con gentilezza

E' interessante notare che Linder Sterling, la vecchia amica di Morrissey e sua fotografa, contibuisce a questo brano con il controcanto.
