Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Dagenham Dave

Head in the clouds and a mouthful of pie
Head in a blouse, everybody loves him
I see why

Dagenham Dave, Dagenham Dave
Oh, Dagenham Dave

"I love Karen, I love Sharon" on the windowscreen
With never the need to fight or to question a single thing

Dagenham Dave, Dagenham Dave
Oh, Dagenham Dave

He'd love to touch, he's afraid that he might self-combust
I could say more, but you get the general idea

Dagenham Dave, Dagenham Dave
Oh, Dagenham Dave

Dagenham is an area located East of London, where the main source of employment is a Ford factory, which produces the Escort and Fiesta car models. Dave from Dagenham is a working class, heterosexual male, working at Ford's and probably drives a Ford Escort. In an area with its fair share of unemployment, he has a job, has a car, has more than his share of women (Karen and Sharon) and need not worry where his his next meal is coming from ("the mouthful of pie"). The video plot of Dagenham Dave and its atmosphere will let you recognize all the aspects mentioned by the lyrics.
