Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

The Last Of The Famous International Playboys

Dear hero imprisoned
With all the new crimes
That you are perfecting
Oh I can't help quoting you
'Cause everything that you said
Rings true
And now in my cell
Well, I followed you
And here's a list of who I slew
Reggie Kray, do you know my name?
Oh don't say you don't
Please say you do
I am the last of the famous
International playboys
The last of the famous
International playboys
In my cell
Well, I loved you
And every man with a job to do
Ronnie Kray, do you know my face?
Oh don't say you don't
Please say you do
I am the last of the famous
International playboys
The last of the famous
International playboys
In our lifetime those who kill
The newsworld hands them stardom
And these are the ways
On which I was raised
These are the ways on which I was
Which I was raised:
I never wanted to kill
I AM NOT NATURALLY EVIL
Such things I do
Just to make myself
More attractive to you
HAVE I FAILED?

Excellent single mythologising vicious London gangsters, brought into the limelight again in recent years after Morrissey sent a wreath to Ronnie Kray's funeral. Ronnie and Reggie Kray held a tight rein on 60's London with a network of crime, whilst maintaining public respect through legal businesses and charity events. They were eventually jailed in connection with the murder of Jack "The Hat" McVitie, as was dramatised in the excellent film "The Krays" featuring the Kemp brothers of eighties new-romantic outfit Spandeau Ballet.

L'ultimo dei famosi rubacuori internazionali

Caro eroe in catene
Con gli ultimi crimini
Che stai perfezionando
Oh non posso evitare di citarti
Perché tutto quello che hai detto
Suona vero
Rubacuori internazionali
L'ultimo dei famosi
Rubacuori internazionali
Ed ora qui nella mia cella
(Beh, ho amato te
Ed ogni uomo con un lavoro)
Ronnie Kray - riconosci la mia faccia?
Non dire di no
Ti prego, di' di sì
Io sono l'ultimo dei famosi
Rubacuori internazionali
L'ultimo dei famosi
Rubacuori internazionali
Faccio certe cose
Solo per rendere me stesso
Più attraente ai tuoi occhi
Ho fallito?
