Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Will Never Marry

I'm writing this to say
In a gentle way
Thank you, but no
I will live my life as I
Will undoubtfully die - alone
I'm writing this to say
In a gentle way
Thank you..
I will live my life as I..
For whether you stay
Or you stray
An inbuilt guilt
That catches up with you
And as it comes around to your place
At 5 a.m. wakes you up
And it laughs in your face

A short extremely melancholic song, it provides a constrast with the mostly external story of November Spawned A Monster. Come the second verse, Morrissey hardly seems able to finish a sentence with the terrible loneliness of his plight, but soon returns with a damning personification of guilt, which is possibly a reference to the Roman Catholic religion's notion of Original Sin.
A charming and sweeping B-side, strangely cut short from the original version, which appeared as a track on the Everyday Is Like Sunday single.

Non mi sposerò mai

Scrivo queste parole per dire
In un modo gentile:
Grazie, ma no
Vivrò la mia vita come
Senza dubbio morirò: solo
Scrivo queste parole per dire
In un modo gentile:
Grazie..
Vivrò la mia vita da me..
Perché sia che tu rimanga
oppure decida di vagare
un senso di colpa latente
ti raggiungerà
e quando verrà a trovarti
alle 5 del mattino ti sveglierà
e ti riderà in faccia
