Wor(l)d of Morrissey
We're back! Welcome to the world of Morrissey's lyrics.

This site and all of the work made to keep it updated during the last 25 years are dedicated to my beloved friend MaCa65 who suddenly left this lonely planet
and me without words. Throughout the short stretch of time that we have been given to spend together as close friends, we shared many things,
thoughts, passions and some bits of Life. Back in 1983, together we discovered a band called The Smiths and together since then, we followed Morrissey's career
as one of the most influential and inspiring singer/artist/poet of our age. Maca65 has always been a strong supporter since when I first launched WoM,
so this is and will always be entirely for you, my friend. -- David

Never Had No One Ever

When you walk without ease
on these streets where you were raised
I had a really bad dream
It lasted 20 years, 7 months and 27 days
Alone, I'm alone
And I never, ever.. had no one ever

Now I'm outside your house
I'm alone
And I'm outside your house
I'd hate to intrude
Oh, I'm lone
I'm alone, I'm alone, I'm alone, I'm alone, I'm alone
And I never, ever... oh... had no one ever
I never had no one ever
I never had no, no one ever
Had no one never
I never... no...

During an interview, Morrissey explained this song is about 'the frustration that I felt at the age of 20 when I still didn't feel easy walking around the streets on which I'd been born, where all my family had lived. They're originally from Ireland but had been here since the Fifties. It was a constant confusion to me why I never really felt "this is my patch, this is my home, I know these people. I can do what I like, because this is mine." It never was. I could never walk easily.'

According to Johhny Rogan, Morrissey spent the day in question (18th January 1980) at home, perusing "Murderer's Who's Who".

Non ho mai avuto nessuno

Mentre camminavi senza naturalezza su queste
Strade in cui sei cresciuto
Io ho fatto un sogno davvero brutto
è durato vent'anni, sette mesi e ventisette giorni
Solo, sono solo
E non ho mai... mai avuto nessuno

Ora che sono fuori dalla tua casa
Sono solo
e sono fuori da casa tua
Non vorrei mai e poi mai disturbare
Sono solo
Sono solo, sono solo, sono solo, sono solo...
E non ho mai, mai... avuto nessuno
Non ho mai avuto nessuno
Non ho mai avuto, mai nessuno
Mai avuto nessuno
Mai... no...
